Coton Parish Council Homepage

Welcome to the Coton Parish Council website.

We need some nice photos of the village - if you would like to donate some digital images then please email to the address at the foot of the page. We also welcome any input into the page 'About Coton'.

Any other suggestions or reporting of errors also welcome. At the moment we do not have the resources to make this a comprehensive village website and so want to stick mainly to Parish Council issues.

Recent topics

E-cops - to receive email updates from you local neighbourhood policing team click here. As a subscriber, you will receive regular updates about crime and anti-social behaviour in your area, as well as ways to avoid it!

The proposed Dry Drayton / Madingley / Coton bike path.

Sara Godward of Cambridge Road has been recently co-opted onto the Parish Council.

Dog ban on recreation ground - the ban has been lifted but the topic is still under discussion by the Council. More dog bins were requested from SCDC but have been refused (the reasons stated are that we have enough and that SCDC are against dogs on recreation areas). We are looking into the cost of buying and paying for the emptying of these ourselves. Future restrictions are likely if reports of fouling continues. The topic will remain on the agenda.

Replacement of Airey housing in West Coton - appeal granted - 14 houses being replaced with 28

Next meeting

Regular meetings are normally held every second Tuesday in the month at 7pm in the WI Hall. Extraordinary meetings may be held at any time if urgent issues need addressing. Agendas can be found on the village noticeboard and, usually, via the link below.

All members of the public are welcome and can present comments to the Council at the beginning of the meeting. Members of the public are welcome to stay throughout the meeting but are asked not to speak after the open session unless invited to do so. Topics to be addressed must be on the published agenda or they will be delayed until the next meeting (contact the Parish Clerk to include your interest at least a week before the meeting).
